Designed for a couple, one a painter and the other a building scientist and native plant enthusiast, hilltop studio & residence is part home, part studio, part office, part shop, part landscape restoration project. Dug into a hill and clad in naturally aging cedar siding, the project is an overlapping patchwork of living space and work space that allows the user direct access to different levels of the site from all areas of the building.
